There comes a time when even the best professional wrestlers of the world need to retire. Even though some wrestlers prefer not to official retire, they simply cannot wrestle any longer. Professional wrestling is not an easy job and most professional wrestlers get injured at some point.
An injury can be bad or really bad! It mainly depends on how badly a move was botched or how much the wrestler is taking care of himself/herself. Famous wrestlers often refuse to take time off to recover. That can make an injury even worse!
Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and he has mastered the move called the Leg Drop. Unfortunately, performing the move over and over again can result in a very bad injury. Hulk Hogan required surgery to repair his back.
The excessive use of the leg drops caused damage to almost his entire lower body. He spoke about his future plans with the WWE on WrestleMania 36 press conference. I can't wrestle anymore because nine back surgeries, two fake knees, two fake hips.
... I've had 17 surgeries in the last ten years. I kinda missed the memo on the 'fake' part [of wrestling] ... Vince [McMahon] has this master plan. And I don't mind being the hood ornament, and I don't mind being the Babe Ruth of the promotion, but Vince is putting together a whole new thing.
... I still feel like I'm 20 in my head, but my body's telling me, 'Easy, brother.' I'm not sure what the title is, but hopefully really soon I'll be back and really, really active."
