In recent months we have seen Chris Jericho, now a legendary athlete who's working with the All Elite Wrestling, with a great past in WWE and WCW, return to an exceptional physical shape, after having lost several kilos which made him much more round and clumsy in the rings of the AEW.
In recent years, Jericho had in fact gotten a bit heavy, hiding enough of that fit physique that he wore for years in the WWE rings and before that on those of the Turner family, when he was in his early twenties. In his last interview, Jericho wanted to explain what was the trigger for this drastic change in his appearance, which is actually due to physical and health problems, but which apparently instead gave a fresher and more younger than the athlete, so much so that Jericho himself said he was very happy to be back in shape after years.
Chris Jericho had lost weight
In his latest speech to the microphones of Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho wanted to partly tell the reasons that led him to lose weight in the last period, with the former WWE Y2J who in fact stated: "I'll tell you the whole story one of these days.
I had some health problems when I went on tour in England in December. What happened though, it was cool and I decided to reconfigure my life style, we could say so. I went on a diet, a strict diet and wanted to lose 5 kg and finally lost 5 kg in a week.
So I said to myself, well, let's see what happens if I move on." Later in the course of his interview, Chris Jericho returned to talk about Cody Rhodes, saying he was initially quite disappointed by his former vice president's departure from AEW, but saying himself happy for him in the same way, since he understood the opportunity that his colleague had in hand, to be able to return to WWE to his ways and his salary, with plans that will now surely be different from those with which he left the company years ago.
Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Jericho stated that the original plan for his feud with Owens was to culminate in a main event match for the world title. However, WWE and Vince McMahon decided to change the main event to Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.
"There's no bitterness when I tell this story or no anger; it's just the way it is. I've been working in this business for a long time. So you mentioned Kevin Owens and Jericho and we had the best story on the show for months.
One of the original plans from Vince's (McMahon) mouth to my ears directly was the main event of WrestleMania, was going to be Jericho vs Owens for the world title, and Jericho wins the title, for the first time ever as a babyface.
I've never been a babyface world champion ever. Weird to think of it, right? Seven-time champion as a heel," Chris Jericho said.
