Vince Russo takes a shot at AJ Styles

AJ Styles took on Edge at WrestleMania 38, suffering interference from Damian Priest who sealed the new alliance with the 'Rated-R Superstar' In the next episode of Monday Night Raw, Priest explained the reason that led him to collaborate with Edge.

The 'Phenomenal One' showed up in the ring to get a rematch, but found himself outnumbered and was put on the run. The next WWE pay-per-view will be WrestleMania Backlash, the ideal theater to witness the showdown between Priest and Styles.

AJ was interviewed backstage on Raw this week when he noticed that Damian was just passing by. The 44-year-old from Jacksonville didn't think twice and attacked the former US champion from behind before the two were separated by security.

In the latest edition of 'Legion of RAW' on Sportskeeda, former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo remarked on how hard it is to believe that segment.

Vince Russo talks about AJ Styles

“The arenas that host WWE shows are huge, I don't know if you know it.

The chances that AJ Styles and Damian Priest will meet in the same point of the building at the same instant are infinitesimal" - pointed out Vince Russo. “That segment would have been a lot more believable if AJ had been looking for Priest in the locker room, but they made him look ridiculous.

Anyone with a minimum of brains who watched the show felt insulted ”- he added up. Vince then commented on the losses suffered by Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38: “I doubt that their defeats in Mania were not the result of chance.

I think it's possible that Vince McMahon is punishing Seth and Becky because - after their marriage and the birth of their first daughter - wrestling is no longer their top priority. As the weeks go by, this feeling becomes more and more concrete in my mind”.

We will have more clues in the coming months. At the Grandest Stage of Them All, Damian Priest suddenly appeared and distracted Styles, allowing Edge to pick up the win. One night later on the RAW after WrestleMania, Priest aligned himself with Edge.

In an attempt to get one step closer to Edge, AJ Styles had to run through former US Champion Damian Priest. While the match was going well, it ended abruptly as Styles disappeared and Priest stood in the ring with the lights out. There was no finish. It was seen afterwards that The Phenomenal One got busted open.
