Jim Ross comments on Samoa Joe as US Champion

After a long series of injuries, Samoa Joe is finally back in WWE a few days from WrestleMania 35, which will be held on April 7th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. On the March 5 episode of SmackDown Live, Joe, alongside Andrade and Rey Mysterio, answered R-Truth's United States Championship open challenge and subsequently defeated Truth, Andrade, and Mysterio to capture the US title, marking his first championship on the main roster.

Joe successfully defended the title against Truth, Andrade, and Mysterio at Fastlane. In the latest edition of The Jim Ross Report podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer commented on Joe's situation: “I’m glad to see Samoa Joe win the United States Championship.

I’ve thought Joe’s been underutilized for a long time. He’s believable, he’s durable and can have great matches with a variety of people. I’m a big Samoa Joe fan. Congratulations to Joe on the United States title.

You think a guy like Joe with so much pride…proud man, loves the wrestling business, he’ll do more than a lot of guys will ever dream of doing to make the United States Championship have value. And I don’t know how many titles in WWE have the value that ideally they would like."
