Ember Moon provides some clues to her future

After being fired from WWE in November 2021, Athena, known as Ember Moon in WWE, took a little break from the ring, also due to her non-competition clause, returning to independents and even winning a title. On her possible future of her in AEW, however, she had spoken Fightful, because obviously, people had started to say that she surely would have landed in the company of Tony Khan, like many former WWE wrestlers.

Ember Moon was a part of Vince McMahon's global juggernaut for more than five years.

New details on Ember Moon

She made her main roster debut on RAW after WrestleMania 34 but returned to the former black and gold brand after a lack of creative direction.

During her interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Athena made it known that her WWE contract was due to expire in April 2022 and by the end of summer 2021 the company had offered her five times the amount she was receiving.

However, she did not sign and was released. "I think they are afraid of the talents they have and that they can go elsewhere. It was literally until maybe, I mean, August-September, they were still trying. And I: 'I'd like to sit here and take your money, but not you gave me a reason to stay.'

That was my point of contention with them. I want to stay, I want you to make me stay," she said. Then she added that she actually followed what was happening in AEW: "I was seeing everything that happens in AEW and I said to myself, 'It sounds funny.

It looks like what I thought I was doing.' For a while, we couldn't even talk about it. behind the scenes, because they were like, 'You shouldn't be watching the competition.' It was different because I wasn't watching a movie.

I was watching because I was envious of what was happening there." When asked if she would actually like to go to All Elite Wrestling, she replied, “That is up to them, technically. I was very open and like, 'Anyone who offers, let's do it.'

I just want to fight and have fun." Also in the same interview, the former Ember Moon recounted the plans WWE had in mind for her before releasing her and how the management's behavior towards women at NXT was scandalous.

Moon also expressed how it felt to work in WWE, comparing it to her 9-5 job. "I couldn’t believe what they were offering me. I was so unhappy, but some things you don’t do for money, you do for love. And this wasn’t fun for me, it was like a 9 to 5 job. For what we do every day, we risk our lives and no day is the same, so why do we feel this way?”
