Booker T's prediction of Roman Reigns' reign

Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, confirming that he is the undisputed leader of WWE. The 'Tribal Chief' won the Universal title in August 2020, giving new impetus to his career and starting a fruitful collaboration with Paul Heyman.

The former Shield member will not defend his headlines at WrestleMania Backlash, WWE's next pay-per-view, which takes place May 8 in Providence. Roman will in fact be engaged in a six-man tag team match (together with Usos) against RK-Bro and Drew McIntyre.

This meeting seems destined to propitiate a new feud between Reigns and McIntyre. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes has repeatedly expressed his desire to become a world champion. The former AEW star made his WWE comeback at WrestleMania 38, taking away the satisfaction of beating Seth Rollins.

In the latest edition of the 'Hall of Fame' podcast, Booker T did not rule out that Roman could keep his belts for the next two years.

Booker T comments on Roman Reigns

"After Cody Rhodes returned to WWE and revealed he wanted to be world champion, I thought 'The American Nightmare' was going to be included in the world title fight," said Booker T.

“The company has decided otherwise and Roman Reigns is preparing to start a rivalry with Drew McIntyre. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Roman kept his titles for the next two years,” added the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.

Booker T also spoke of the difficult time AEW is going through: “At this time of the season, there are a lot of events that take attention away from wrestling. Either way, it's odd that All Elite Wrestling fails to attract even 500,000 spectators for Friday night shows.

I would say that it is quite alarming, even if it is a young federation. I don't think the TNT executives are jumping for joy seeing AEW have such low ratings. I guess they are quite worried." Following Big E's victory in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match last July, fans were hoping he would cash in his contract at SummerSlam.

The New Day member winning the WWE Championship after Bobby Lashley took on Goldberg would have been quite the moment. E did cash in his Money in the Bank contract a few weeks later on RAW, so fans didn't have to wait too long for his eventual coronation as WWE Champion. But as far as SummerSlam was concerned, the rumor can be deemed accurate.
