On Sunday, WWE held a Live Event in Trenton, New Jersey. Here Roman Reigns, currently both Universal and WWE Champion, again gave a speech to the fans out of character, and uttered words meant to worry everyone who has loved his work in the ring for the past couple of years.
Roman Reigns thanked the fans and then said that he does not know if he will ever return to Trenton because he is starting a new phase in his life. The words, which seem to refer to less involvement in the ring or even a not-so-distant goodbye to wrestling, came in the closing stages of a lengthy microphone speech that the Samoan allowed himself after beating Drew McIntyre.
"I've been here many times, you know what I mean. I've been here a couple of times over the past 10 years. And I'm starting to work at a new stage in my career, and I honestly don't know if I'll be back here again. If so, I just want to thank you for all these years of support," said Roman Reigns.
In this video you can see the entire promo of him, the "offending" part arrives as said in the final phase.
The latest news on Roman Reigns
But what then lies in the future of Roman Reigns? The WWE Tribal Chief has hinted in the past couple of years about the possibility of a move to Hollywood on a more permanent basis.
Last November, during an interview on 'The Michael Kay Show', Reigns actually confirmed that something is cooking. "I think there will be some moves in this area very soon," Roman Reigns admitted. There are always these speculations, these contractual negotiations.
But this whole thing, at the moment, is my business. People who can go a little deeper into the matter, I'm sure they can uncover enough clues to figure out how long it will take, but it's something I definitely want to dedicate myself to." Cinema, therefore, is more than an option for Roman Reigns' future: "I want to gain more experience and I want to use these tools that I have learned.
Being in WWE has really done me good. They have given me so much and they have given me. a lot of opportunities. I just had to take advantage of them. I just had to take that ball and run with it. I like to think that along the way, I learned so many skills and experienced so many different things.
Now they will help me because in the end, we all know how does it work". Last month, WWE President Nick Khan told The Town podcast that the company was helping Reigns pursue his career in Hollywood: "We think his destiny is definitely there, and we have big plans with him to help him. to do the crossover. We think it will be a great chance for him. Yes, we think he can do it."
