Chris Jericho is one of the most popular and successful wrestlers of all time, having succeeded in the quest to transcend wrestling. The Canadian champion has won 35 titles between WWE, WCW, ECW, AEW, NJPW and CMLL. In addition to being a seven-time world champion, he has won the United States Championship twice, the World Tag Team Championship seven times and the Intercontinental title nine times, becoming one of four performers capable of completing the Grand Slam with both the old format and with the new.

In the latest edition of his now-famous podcast, Y2J recalled Vince McMahon's decision to ban blood during matches. The practice of 'blading' was widely used to make a superstar bleed in the middle of a match. The purpose of the 'blading' was to 'improve' the contest through copious bleeding.

Wrestling companies have adopted this technique for several years before WWE decided to abandon it.

“In 2008, Shawn Michaels and I were engaged in a very violent feud. At some point, the situation got out of control and Vince McMahon decided to do away with all that blood.

HBK and I certainly influenced that choice” - said Chris Jericho. “From that moment on, Vince began to meticulously check that the athletes did not bleed during matches. Do you think that Dave Batista had to pay a very high fine for not respecting this prohibition” - he added.

Chris then returned to his farewell to WWE: “Honestly, I think Vince McMahon thought to the last that I was bluffing for more money. A person who has known me for so long should have known that I am not that kind of man.

I've always been honest with him. I'm sure Vince underestimated that situation and regrets it today. He could have done more to keep me in WWE”. The 51-year-old from Manhasset is now one of the symbols of All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Jericho stated that the original plan for his feud with Owens was to culminate in a main event match for the world title. "There's no bitterness when I tell this story or no anger; it's just the way it is.

I've been working in this business for a long time. So you mentioned Kevin Owens and Jericho and we had the best story on the show for months. One of the original plans from Vince's (McMahon) mouth to my ears directly was the main event of WrestleMania, which was going to be Jericho vs Owens for the world title, and Jericho wins the title, for the first time ever as a babyface."
