Bully Ray discusses Roman Reigns' reign

Roman Reigns has held the WWE Universal Championship for over 600 days, making him the longest-running champion in the history of the belt. Four superstars have held a world title for a longer time than him: we're talking about Bruno Sammartino (twice), Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan and Pedro Morales.

During his exceptional career, the 'Tribal Chief' also won the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship, making him the 17th wrestler in the company's history to complete the Grand Slam.

He also won the 2015 edition of the Royal Rumble match, with six eliminations on the scoresheet. Predictably, the former Shield member defeated Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 38 and reaffirmed that he was the company's undisputed leader.

In the latest edition of 'Busted Open Radio', Bully Ray analyzed Roman's prospects in detail.

Bully Ray reflects on Roman Reigns

“Roman Reigns is already one of the longest-running world champions ever. Only sacred monsters of the caliber of Bruno, Backlund, Hulk and then again Bruno precede him.

This shows that Reigns made WWE history and will be remembered as one of the best performers of the modern era. I think Vince Mcmahon will do everything in his power for Roman to break more records and get as high on that list as possible.

His reduced schedule is also aimed at reaching this milestone” - said Bully Ray. Bully also talked about Cody Rhodes: “His return to WWE was a success, but a little problem arose. WWE fans tend to be younger than those watching All Elite Wrestling shows.

Cody has a very large vocabulary and often uses words that are not easily understood by everyone. He should use simpler language in WWE, as people don't have a vocabulary at hand. The AEW fans are older and more experienced, while the WWE product is now intended for families." According to Brad Shepard, WWE has plans for Reigns to headline Money In The Bank and SummerSlam.

The two events will take place in July this year. The report also mentions that the higher-ups are considering Randy Orton and Riddle as potential challengers for Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. It is possible that the outcome of the match on the blue brand will define the path toward one of the RK-Bro members challenging Reigns for his title.

As part of his new deal, he's set to make fewer house show appearances, but he'll still be competing in major premium live events such as SummerSlam.
