The Miz pays tribute to John Cena

While never a front-page face, The Miz is arguably one of the most respected wrestlers on the WWE roster. In his career, the 41-year-old from Parma has held the WWE Championship twice, the Intercontinental title eight times, the United States Championship twice, the World Tag Team Championship twice, the Raw Tag Team Championship four times and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship twice, becoming the 14th athlete in WWE history to complete the Grand Slam.

He also won the 2010 edition of the Money in the Bank and the 2018 edition of the Mixed Match Challenge with Asuka. On April 2, on the first night of WrestleMania 38, The Miz and Logan Paul defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio, but at the end of the contest, Miz himself gave Paul his 'Skull-Crushing Finale'

In the latest edition of 'The Kliq' podcast, the former WWE champion revealed that he has learned a great deal from John Cena.

The Miz praises John Cena

"I learned so much from him. John Cena is a wealth of knowledge and is more than willing to share his experience with others as long as you are willing to listen to him.

He taught me a lot of things in the ring and I improved visibly thanks to his help. I could go on and on. I owe a lot to Cena and I will never stop thanking him” - said The Miz. The latter then praised Randy Orton: "I think Randy is the best wrestler around from a technical point of view.

The sequences of him distinguish him from all the other superstars, it is an objective fact. I think everyone realizes this. He was able to stay on top for an incredibly long amount of time. The nice thing is that he improves over the years, like wine"

Miz also talked about his relationship with Vince McMahon: “Vince really appreciates my style and my work ethic. He has always liked my ability to adapt to any context, from Raw to SmackDown, from PPVs to commercials”.

Cena, in a recent WWE Playback video, looked back on how his first interaction with McMahon resulted in the Chairman ordering him to cut his hair: “I found out at 2:45 in the afternoon that I’d be wrestling Kurt Angle," said Cena.

"I had one meeting with Mr. McMahon before this. I was pushed into his office and Michael Hayes asked, like, ‘What do we do with this?’ Mr. McMahon’s first sentence to me, it was a short meeting. He said, ‘Cut his f*cking hair.’ Then I was out of the office”.
