Roman Reigns has been the undisputed leader of the WWE for a couple of years. After struggling to shine in the early years of his career, the 'Tribal Chief' has found his dimension thanks also to the new alliance with Paul Heyman.
The 37-year-old from Pensacola had to use all his energy to resist Brock Lesnar's assault on SummerSlam, managing to remain champion and writing yet another page of history. Thanks to this success, the former Shield member was able to celebrate 700 days as a champion.
Roman had captured the belt on August 30, 2020, at the 'Payback' pay-per-view, when he defeated 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match. Reigns will be called to face Drew McIntyre at 'Clash at the Castle', the highly anticipated event that will take place in the UK on September 3rd.
In the latest edition of 'Smack Talk' on Sportskeeda, Dutch Mantell stated that Reigns could be dethroned by Theory during a live event. Theory took down the Money in the Bank briefcase last month and will try hard to become world champion.
Dutch Mantell opens up on Theory
The young WWE star already tried it during SummerSlam, but Brock Lesnar knocked him down even before he rang the bell. “If Roman Reigns is to be dethroned by Theory, let's do it at a time when no one expects it.
Do you know what the best time would be? During a live event. You record it and in the next TV show, you present the new champion. The public would be speechless” - said, Dutch Mantell. Dutch then commented on Ric Flair's latest match: “I didn't watch the event, but the organization was really fantastic.
They gave life to a memorable evening and the placement after SummerSlam proved to be perfectly suited. From what I read, there was no shortage of emotions and Ric Flair 'greeted' the audience in the way he did. Jeff Hardy and Jay Lethal did a great job helping Ric shine.
I'm not entirely sure he hung up his boots”. While speaking on his Hall of Fame show, Booker T said that Theory could beat Roman Reigns or anyone else to become world champion if it's the right situation and if he's booked properly by WWE.
"It's not losing, but it's how you lose. He could beat Roman, he could beat anybody on the card if the situation is right. If a person is unconscious when I cash in, who loses? If you book it properly, Theory is not going to be one of the guys that [sic] got the briefcase and didn't cash it in and win it."
