Rey Mysterio is one of the most popular cruiser-weights of all time in professional wrestling, and he spoke about passing his mask to another star after he finally retires. Rey’s 20-year anniversary in WWE took place on the 25th of July.

Rey has mostly been an underdog in professional wrestling. He is only 5’6”. He is extremely small for a professional wrestler. Most professional wrestlers are tall and usually weigh more than 250 pounds. Rey didn’t let his height hurt his professional wrestling career.

He because a luchador and become one of the best wrestlers in the world when it came to executing difficult high-flying moves. During a recent interview, he teased that he will most likely pass his mask to another wrestler after he hangs up his boots for good.

He has just teased it so far, so we may never actually see it happen.

Rey Mysterio Hints That He Will Pass His Mask to Another Star

"I told [Dominik Mysterio] it would be cool if one day he earned the mask just like I did from my uncle," Rey Mysterio said on "BT Sport."

"I truly believe that if Dom eventually wants to wear it and represent, you know, that he's been working real hard to earn it, you know? Maybe by the time, I retire the earning is already been paid off and there's a presentation of a mask, a passing the mask onto the son."

Dominik is a WWE wrestler, and he is Rey’s son. He joined the WWE nearly 2 years ago and fought in 2020 against Seth Rollins in his debut match. Rey and Dominik eventually became tag team champions. They won the Smackdown titles at Backlash 2021.

Rey has stated that he would not wrestle after he crosses 50. That means Dominik has about three years left to wrestle alongside his father. Dominik and Rey Mysterio will most likely fight The Judgment Day. They are currently in a feud with them.

The feud is taking place on RAW. Edge and Dominik shared the ring this week on RAW, and Rey was there to keep the peace. Unlike his father, Dominik is actually tall and is also larger. However, Dominik can still perform moves that require a high degree of execution quite easily.

Dominik is slowly and steadily climbing to the top of the WWE. However, he still has a long way to go and he hasn’t wrestled all the top of WWE superstars in the WWE.
