Will Cody Rhodes be downsized?

The return of Cody Rhodes to WWE was one of the most surprising events of the first half of 2022. After a full six years of absence, 'The American Nightmare' shocked everyone by appearing at WrestleMania 38 and managing to defeat a champion of the caliber of Seth Rollins.

In the following weeks, the former AEW star proved to be one of the best performers around and expressed a desire to become a world champion. Cody is currently in the pits due to a chest muscle injury but is doing everything he can to forge ahead and get back into the ring.

His extraordinary performance at Hell in a Cell will forever be etched in the minds of fans, who hope to see him back in action soon. In recent days, some insiders have been wondering about Rhodes’s future after Vince McMahon's departure.

The latest news on Cody Rhodes

As everyone knows by now, Vince McMahon decided to leave the company last month. His place was taken by his daughter Stephanie and Nick Khan, while Triple H was put in charge of the creative team.

The 14-time world champion, who retired from wrestling shortly before WrestleMania 38, has already given his creative touch to the shows and brought back several superstars who had been released to WWE. It's no secret that Cody Rhodes and The Game have had some disagreements in the past.

In an interview released some time ago, Cody admitted that he was still angry at Hunter for the way he was treated in 2016. According to Andrew Zarian, a well-known correspondent for 'Mat Men', there are still big plans for Rhodes.

His push is expected to culminate at WrestleMania 39, but Cody is expected to do great things at Royal Rumble 2023 as well. During his career, the 37-year-old from Marietta has held the Intercontinental title twice, three times the WWE Tag Team Championship and three times the World Tag Team Championship.

Former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett is ecstatic to see Cody Rhodes back in the WWE. "We've all heard the rumors for weeks now. It's gonna be Cody. It's gonna be this guy, gonna be somebody else, but the one that kept everyone kept coming back to you was Cody.

I know Cody pretty well. I text him occasionally. I purposely did not ask him at all whether he was coming back. I didn't want to put him in a position where he had to not answer or had to lie to me. I just kept out of it."
