There are now only two weeks left for Clash at the Castle, an event that promises to be historic and will mark the return of WWE to a stadium in the United Kingdom after more than 30 years. To make things even bigger it has been announced that the Premium Live Event will be broadcast on TV in the UK.
To be precise, the event will be broadcast on BT Sport 2, so even those who are not subscribers to the WWE Network will be able to enjoy the great event. The British broadcaster is also working on a special documentary starring Drew Mcintyre, who at Clash at the Castle will face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship: it will be the main event of the show.
This will be the company's first major stadium event in the UK in nearly 30 years.
Update on WWE Clash at the Castle
The last major WWE event in an English stadium dates back to SummerSlam '92 when over 80,000 fans filled London's Wembley Stadium.
In the main event of a PPV that has gone down in history, Bret Hart and The British Bulldog faced each other in a match with the Intercontinental Championship up for grabs. Meanwhile, the Scotsman has teased fans on social media about a possible entry with "Broken Dreams", a historic theme song used in the past years in WWE.
Returning to the Clash at the Castle issue, a background has recently emerged that it was the city of Cardiff that was the highest bidder, paying a large sum to WWE to have the show. If the show is successful, a future edition of Wrestlemania in the UK cannot be ruled out, as repeatedly teased by Drew McIntyre.
Clash at the Castle will air on Saturday 3 September live from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, in the heart of Wales. After more than 500 days, the intercontinental title will finally return to being defended outside of the TV shows.
The reigning champion, Gunther, will face Sheamus in a match that promises sparks: the two have never clashed until now. While waiting for the event card to be completed, we invite you to stay tuned to our pages and continue to follow us on Instagram.
Roman Reigns issued an emphatic statement ahead of WWE Clash at The Castle. Today, Roman Reigns sent a message on Twitter ahead of the Premium Live Event: "A man living in #GODMode. #Smackdown #WWECastle".
