Chris Jericho tells a surprising anecdote

In recent months we have seen Chris Jericho, now legendary athlete of the All Elite Wrestling rings, with a great past in WWE and WCW, return to an exceptional physical shape, after losing several kilos which made him much more round and clumsy in the rings of the AEW.

In recent years, Jericho had in fact gotten a little heavy, hiding enough of that fit physique that he wore for years in the McMahon rings and before that on those of the Turner family, when he was in his early twenties. After this drastic change in physical form, AEW has also included Jericho in a particular storyline with a particular team, with the guys who follow Jericho who call themselves the Jericho Appreciation Society.

After more than twenty years in the WWE and WCW rings, Jericho had passed a few years ago in the rings of the newborn All Elite Wrestling, a company that Y2J together with a few other big names had started, becoming the very first world champion, participating in great feuds with all the h*ttest names in the independent American and non-American sector.

Chris Jericho is a former WWE champion

In the latest installment of his podcast, Talk Is Jericho, former WWE Champion and AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho, wanted to talk about Vince McMahon's strange way of doing business, with the now former WWE Chairman wanting him back to all costs, after the wrestler had signed his new contract with the fledgling All Elite Wrestling.

In the story of him, Y2J in fact stated: "I gave WWE a chance again, I gave it a chance when I went to Vince and said 'this is the offer they made me', from this new company and he told me to take it. Maybe at the time Vince thought I was bluffing, but after a week he called me to ask if I accepted it and I obviously said yes and he 'Can you get out of that deal?' No!

You told me to accept it, why should I get out now? He also asked me what kind of TV deal the AEW had to get us on television. And I said, 'You can't ask me these questions!" Chris Jericho has opened up about his WWE exit and how a WrestleMania match with Kevin Owens helped him decide his future.

"There's no bitterness when I tell this story or no anger; it's just the way it is. I've been working in this business for a long time. So you mentioned Kevin Owens and Jericho and we had the best story on the show for months.

One of the original plans from Vince's (McMahon) mouth to my ears directly was the main event of WrestleMania, was going to be Jericho vs Owens for the world title, and Jericho wins the title, for the first time ever as a babyface."
