Wrestlenomics reporter Brandon Thurston reported that there have been several layoffs in WWE in the past few hours. Thurston wrote: “They told me there have been layoffs today in the WWE marketing department. More people at the VP level have been let go.
Maybe part of a renovation of that department. EVP Catherine Newman was hired this summer as the new head of marketing. There have been other changes today. In their latest SEC filing, it was announced that Barstool Sports CEO Erika Nardini has stepped down from her position on the Board of Directors.
The filing also officially announced that Michelle McKenna and Joellen Lyons Dillon have been elected to serve on the Board."
WWE has fired several people
"Coinciding with the election of Mses. Dillion and McKenna, Erika Ayers Nardini resigned from the Board," is reported in the WWE filing.
"With Penn Entertainment's recent acquisition of Barstool Sports, Ms. Ayers Nardini's time will be focused on the next chapter of this business and partnership. Ms. Ayers Nardini's decision to step down from the Board was not due to any controversy.
or disagreement with [WWE], its management or any matter relating to [WWE] operations, policies or practices." We remind you that with the change of gaze in the company, it is normal for you to try to downsize the backstage team as well in order to be able to work better and guarantee fans an excellent product and continuous earnings and longevity for the company.
Recently two other backstage personalities have also been fired and are no longer part of the producer group and we are talking about Curtis Axel and Ariya Daivari, with the latter currently engaged in All Elite Wrestling with his new stable, the Trust Busters who it also involves another former WWE.
While Triple H and Shawn Michaels received a promotion, the former as Chief Content Officer, while the latter as Vice President of Creative Talent Development. During a recent WWE press conference in Las Vegas for Crown Jewel, Triple H said Logan Paul has earned his respect.
"Logan was totally different. Logan was a guy that came in, talked to us about it, and as soon as we talked to him about doing something, man he started to put in the work... When I saw him in the ring for the first time, he blew my mind. I saw him do it again, after that blew my mind. This is the guy as I said earlier earned my respect."
