Johnny Gargano unveils his dream opponent

After spending 8 long months away from the scene and the world of Wrestling in general (and becoming a father for the first time), Johnny Gargano made his shock return to WWE on the August 22nd episode of Raw which aired in Canada.

And now that he's officially on the main roster, there are plenty of dream matches on the horizon for him. Apparently, however, the former NXT Champion would have a particular dream opponent in mind, namely Rey Mysterio: "Rey was the wrestler who more than any other launched a trend for people like me, he was the greatest for years and years and still manages to struggle at the level of 20 years ago.

I can't wait to be able to share the ring with him. I remember when I was a kid I built Rey's masks at home when he was the WCW lightweight champion. Being able to fight him would be a dream come true, I can't wait."

Johnny Gargano would like to face Rey Mysterio

In recent days, Johnny Gargano also wanted to talk about his physical change and the problems he has had with his body over the years. Then he ended the speech by saying, "My message here is: You can do it too 100%.

Wherever you are in your life you can always make a change for something more. I know the first step is scary, but go for everything you own. What you want could only be 5 months away!" Obviously Gargano also admitted to being back in WWE especially because of the new regime with Triple H in charge, his mentor and great supporter of NXT, a brand where he became Triple Crown Champion, winning all possible titles.

In the meantime, it has been announced that Gargano will team up with Kevin Owens next week on Raw to face Otis and Gable. Both Gargano and Owens are involved in this triangle with Austin Theory that could lead to a match with the MIB briefcase up for grabs.

Former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano has commented on potentially reuniting with his former rival and tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa on WWE RAW. “You never know. Me and Tommaso [Ciampa] obviously have been linked forever.

As long as we are both in the same company, even if we’re not in the same company, I think we will always be linked together. I think D.I.Y. will always be linked together the same way you think about — luckily, I’m not comparing us to them but I mean, look at Shawn Michaels and Triple H," said Gargano.
