John Cena comments on his WrestleMania appearance

John Cena has been the WWE symbol for many years. Cena has headlined several major WWE pay-per-view events, closing the company's flagship annual event, WrestleMania, five times. Cena was scheduled to compete in the Royal Rumble match at the event, but was taken out due to a kayfabe ankle injury apparently suffered during the aforementioned triple threat match.

Cena returned at WrestleMania 35 with the 'Doctor of Thuganomics' persona and attacked Elias. During the segment, he rapped to Elias, joked about turning heel, and referenced his previous finishing move, the FU and hit Elias with it.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the 16-time world champion commented on his WrestleMania appearance: “This is the first time in a long time I haven’t had to focus on a main-event profile segment.

There wasn’t that looming WrestleMania Sunday in the back of my mind saying, ‘I have to do this and this is what people pay to see.’ I had a lot of fun watching it from the crowd last year, because I knew that was going to be special, and this year gave me liberty to have even more fun”.

On Sue Atchison’s Hall of Fame induction: “None of this happens without Sue, She introduced me to a charity that has become part of my value system”.
