Brutus Beefcake Talks About The Prank Call That Told Him He Would be Inducted in HOF
He recently spoke to Good Karma Wrestling about receiving a prank call once.
The caller stated that Beefcake was going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. This was actually long before he was actually inducted into the Hall of Fame. "Well, I was beginning to think it was never gonna happen," Beefcake admitted.
"About 10 years ago, somebody called from the WWE building, because it was on my phone, the caller ID, and left a message or something about me being in the Hall of Fame. That was like 10 years ago. Everybody got all excited, everybody was going crazy, and it turned out it was a prank call." He was eventually inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
This was several years after he received the prank call. It all worked well for him at the end. "Yeah, so, after that I was like, 'Man, okay, I don't know who I must've made mad or pissed off or whatever,' Beefcake said. "Being patient pays off.
When they called, they had Sports Illustrated, they wanted to have a big release, the announcement made. They had the Hulkster come out and nobody else had a presenter. They had me getting a presenter, having the Hulkster do the presenting.
My career has been so tremendously blessed." Beefcake considers himself blessed as he had a big parasailing accident in 1990. However, nothing extremely bad happened to him during that time. According to him, that accident actually changed his life and his perspective about life as changed.
Brutus is one of the many legendary WWE wrestlers that have been inducted over the past few years into the WWE Hall of Fame. Only the wrestlers that have made a major impact in the wrestling industry through the WWE are the ones that are given the honor of entering the WWE Hall of Fame. Many Hall of Famers still work for the WWE backstage which helps the WWE release competitive products.
