Lio Rush on Tony Khan's plans for him

Former AEW star Lio Rush spoke to the Say Less podcast about Tony Khan and working with him. He also talked about whether AEW had plans with him. “Of course not. When I say things, I don’t wanna sound like it was breaking news because I feel like these things are so blatantly obvious.

It’s like, yanno, he made it pretty clear to me, verbally, that when he was a fan of me, it was when I was in WWE and I was doing the manager stuff with Bobby [Lashley]. If that’s how he saw me, that’s the only light he sees me in… [then] that’s [probably what] he’s gonna shift me to be in that kind of role.

Which I’m not, yanno… I’m so grateful for that time period [in WWE] because it taught me how to talk, it taught me how to present myself and build others up. No, I don’t think that [they] exactly knew what to do with me.

That’s always a frustrating thing, but like you said when [I] say stuff it just gets f*cking blown up”. - Rush said, as quoted by

Locker Rooms

In an interview with WrestleTalk, Rush talked about the differences between the NXT and WWE locker rooms.

The differences were obviously minor. “I don’t think the locker rooms were all that different when it comes to the personalities. We’re all wrestlers, performers and entertainers at the end of the day. So I feel like nothing really stood out all that much other than the physical locker room we were in.

“I would say they were pretty similar, maybe NXT was a little more riled up because they were hungry and wanting to get to the main roster. On the main roster, it was a little bit more relaxed as if these people were at home and we were coming in to sit on the couch or open the refrigerator. There wasn’t really that much of a difference though”.
