Vince McMahon announced his resounding farewell to WWE last July, leaving fans and insiders speechless. Even though Vince wasn't having a good time, no one expected such a drastic move from him. The now former chairman of the company was caught in the eye of the storm following an investigation by the Wall Street Journal, which revealed that Vince had paid out several million dollars to silence some former employees with whom he had had extramarital affairs.
His place was taken by Stephanie and Nick Khan, while Triple H became the new head of the creative team. The 14-time world champion immediately gave his creative touch to the shows, as well as bringing several stars back to the company who had been released during the pandemic.
In the latest edition of 'Story Time', Tom Prichard revealed what Vince McMahon is like in everyday life.
Tom Prichard comments on Vince McMahon
“Vince McMahon is without doubt one of the most original people I've ever met.
He is a unique person, I mean it. Maybe some think that he looks intimidating and I understand them, but I assure you that he can be kind and empathetic like few others ”- said Tom Prichard. “He is not a monster like he has often been described.
Vince was a very ambitious man, who demanded the most from the people around him. If you're the boss of a company like WWE, you need to be strict and know exactly what you want. You must have a vision and he had it" - he added.
Prichard also spoke about Brock Lesnar, who made the history of this business despite being often criticized by fans and experts. “Do you want to know why the Beast has had all this success in wrestling? The reason is simple.
Brock can be mean and unpredictable, no one knows what to expect from him. This is what wrestling needs nowadays, otherwise the risk is to sink into an endless monotony" - commented Tom. Dutch Mantell recently claimed that Vince McMahon possibly stopped caring about the product during his final months as WWE Chairman.
"He [Triple H] took his time and turned it around. Now it has so much positivity to it. And it just took a guy who understood the wrestling business and storytelling because I don't think Vince gave a cr*p. He was making his money, and he was, 'Hey, I'm on rest; you guys figure it out.' "
