Earl Hebner on Hall of Fame induction

Brian Hebner hosted his father, Earl, on his podcast. Brian immediately asked him if he thought he would be inducted into the Hall of Fame “Yea, I would consider it. “All the stuff that I’ve done in this business and made a lot of the matches what they are.

I think I deserve to be in there. But whether I do or not, it’s up to them”. - he said, as quoted by pwmania.com

Earl also recalled working with Dusty Rhodes at Jim Crockett Promotions. Earl has great respect for Rhodes because he was the main person for his arrival on the wrestling scene.

“Dusty means everything to me, because if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be in business. Tommy Young was one of the greatest referees that has ever been in the history of this business. Tommy is the one that taught me to be a good ref and Dusty gave me the opportunity to be a good ref.

I guess the way he kept me and gave me the go ahead sign on matches and shit like that. He was great. I owe him everything”. Being inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame is a big deal and he couldn't hide his excitement. “It meant everything in the world to me in this business.

I never thought I would ever get there, in any Hall of Fame, but I did. I was so happy that they recognized how valuable I was. They still have referees that are valuable, but they sort of broke the ice in knowing that in order for this business to succeed, they have to have a good ref.

It’s good that they noticed that and gave me the opportunity to be in the Hall of Fame, and I will never forget that night or what they did for me”.
