After suffering yet another injury at the hands of Judgment Day, just a few weeks ago, in one of the last episodes of WWE The Bump, the company wanted to confirm the seriousness of the situation of its Hall of Famer Edge, obviously in a storyline key, with the Rated R Superstar who should have been out of the picture with a leg problem due to the Judgment Day attack on Monday Night Raw.
According to the protagonists who attended the secondary show of the company, Edge would have had a second degree strain of the medial collateral ligament of the leg attacked by his former stable on the red show. After only a few weeks, Edge unexpectedly reappeared on Raw, going to challenge Finn Balor, current leader of Judgment Day, to an I Quit match in Extreme Rules, with the Canadian who, however, had to give way, losing the match, when his wife Beth Phoenix was taken hostage by the opposing team.
We haven't heard from Edge since then.
Backstage news on Edge
In its latest interview with The Nation Network, WWE Hall of Famer Edge returned to talk about retirement from WWE, saying: "This is the key. The first time I was told 'You have to stop.
This is, you're done with 'Era Wrestlemania. I retired as a world champion and it sounds like Cinderella, but I didn't know that. It has been difficult all these years, but I have had to accept it and move on in my life as it is now.
I started a wonderful and wonderful family and also started shooting several titles on TV, but when I got the chance I came back. The first thing I thought was 'I want to retire to Toronto' Because again, I know my window won't be open for long.
But if I can do it there, I think I'll be able to do it right. I'll be okay. I didn't come back to win four world titles or anything like that. I really came back to have fun, to help others learn and teach something to the new generation of talent, which I had never gotten my hands on before.
As I always say, we are called storytellers. Always tell a wonderful story. In fact, I thought I'd come back to tell a story like that for three or four years and then go out on the avenue of the sunset."
