The WCW was the only promotion that came close to beating the WWE back during the Monday Night Wars. They had a lot of superstars and some of the most famous wrestlers of the world were working for them. In fact, some very famous WWE wrestlers joined the WCW and helped the promotion get even more famous.
The WCW eventually went out business and the WWE won the Monday Night Wars. Vince McMahon bought WCW’s assets and the best WCW wrestlers started working for the WWE. Some WCW wrestlers became Hall of Famers. Goldberg and Booker T are former WCW wrestlers!
They worked very hard and were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Tony Schiavone is a former WCW announcer and he revealed that he always knew Vince McMahon would win the Monday Night Wars. He was a guest on the Edge and Christian podcast.
"Here's the thing, that's the difference between Vince McMahon running a wrestling company and us working for a television company!" Schiavone said. "And to me, I always knew if there was going to be a winner in this war, and I didn't know that there was going to be a winner and a loser if you want to call it that, but I always knew if there was going to be a winner in the war, it was going to be Vince McMahon because it was his company. The buck stopped with him. And we had to answer to a television company and they didn't care."
