Update on Roman Reigns' future

Roman Reigns has been the symbolic face of WWE for a couple of years and his hegemony is not in danger, thanks also to the support of the other members of the Bloodline. The 'Tribal Chief' defeated Brock Lesnar at both WrestleMania 38 and SummerSlam, despite the Beast trying hard to wrest the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from him.

The former Shield member then successfully defended his title against assaults from Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, while skipping Extreme Rules. Meanwhile, WWE has released the Elimination Chamber 2023 poster. The event will take place on February 18, 2023 in Montreal, Canada.

The absence of Roman Reigns immediately stands out, while Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair and Sami Zayn will be present. WWE is rumored to be resting Roman ahead of WrestleMania 39, the biggest show of the entire year.

Update on Roman Reigns' future

According to Xero News, Roman Reigns could perform at both nights of WrestleMania 39. It is not yet clear if the 'Tribal Chief' will be called to defend his title. Fans are expecting a dream fight between Reigns and his cousin The Rock, who can't wait to get back in the ring after a long absence.

The next edition of the 'Showcase of the Immortals' should also host the great returns of John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin. In the latest edition of the 'Drive Thru' podcast, former WWE manager Jim Cornette reflected on the possible match between Roman and The Rock: "The Rock doesn't need to play another match and he doesn't even need to win another title.

If he's actually going to be in the ring at WrestleMania 39, he's only doing it for his cousin. An eventual victory against a legend like The Rock would make Reigns even greater. If we consider that Roman is his cousin, I don't think The Rock would make a fuss over a loss.

The title will most likely not be up for grabs, also in order not to make the outcome of the match too obvious". It is believed that Roman Reigns' record-breaking world title run could finally end at WWE WrestleMania 39, and EC3 recently explained why John Cena could be a great candidate to dethrone the Tribal Chief.

"Here's the caveat. Here's what you have. You have the story of becoming the 17-time world heavyweight champion, and then if you're going to pay it off, why not there. Granted, everybody would freak out because Roman has had this incredibly long run.

Like, who is going to be made on his way out? John! People would be like, 'Again, Cena s*cks!' I mean, that's a hell of a story."
