Update on Johnny Gargano's injury

The first big PPV of 2023, the Royal Rumble, is almost upon us. The event, which will be held on Saturday 28 January in San Antonio, promises to give fans emotions and twists. WWE is looking for a new structure after the sensational return of Vince Mcmahon and the resignation of his daughter Stephanie, but the latest corporate changes should not affect the progress of the Rumble.

As everyone knows by now, Johnny Gargano suffered a shoulder injury during a live event held in Toronto on December 30, 2022. During an interview with WWE The Bump, the former NXT champion wanted to update fans on recovery times from the injury: "I tweeted that I injured my shoulder at a live event in Toronto, which is ironic because that's where I came back to, Toronto, and that's where I injured my shoulder.

They threw me against the steel steps and I dislocated my acromioclavicular joint. The doctors originally said it will take about 5-6 weeks for me to recover. I will do everything in my power to forge ahead."

Latest update on Johnny Gargano

Triple H is a big fan of Johnny Gargano and it was The Game that brought him back to WWE in August 2022.

According to Dave Meltzer, a well-known correspondent of the 'Wrestling Observer', there is a serious risk of not seeing Johnny at the Royal Rumble. “Johnny Gargano's injury is authentic. He suffered it during a live event staged in Toronto on 12/30.

He said that he is doing everything possible to be present at the Royal Rumble. That type of injury usually requires at least a month off, so we're very tight on time” – explained Meltzer. In the last few hours, the Xero News site has reported the fact that Vince could appear at the Rumble, with Sean Ross Sapp of the Fightful site who however wanted to curb the enthusiasm, saying that for now it is only a rumor not confirmed by anyone.

In a recent interview, former NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano opened up on how William Regal influenced his career in WWE. "2015-2016 I think is when I fully got on the radar. That was thanks to a guy named William Regal obviously," Johnny Gargano said.

"William Regal was a great proponent of independent wrestlers and guys like me who are undersized. Who wasn’t given an opportunity during that time period. It’s so crazy to be in that window, where from 2016 to 2021 where I left."
