Jim Cornette comments on Cody Rhodes' return

Jim Cornette recently commented on the announcement of Cody Rhodes' return to the ring. 'The American Nightmare' has been in the pits for several months due to a tear in the pectoral muscle remedied on the eve of Hell in a Cell 2022.

The former AEW star had nevertheless entered the ring demonstrating insane courage, but that effort had made the situation even worse. It's impossible not to list Cody Rhodes' return to WWE as one of the biggest surprises of 2022.

No one expected such a twist, especially considering that Cody had been one of the founders of All Elite Wrestling in 2019. The 37-year-old from Marietta proved to be much more mature than his first experience in WWE, which ended in 2016 to general amazement.

In the latest edition of the 'Drive Thru' podcast, former WWE manager Jim Cornette said that the company has big plans for Cody Rhodes: "I believe WWE will do everything possible to bring Cody back to the top.

The reason they didn't keep the news of his return a secret is that there was no need to. Everyone is eagerly awaiting Cody's return and can't wait to see him in the ring. Nothing has changed since the day he retired with his pectoral muscle injury.

Rhodes will try to follow in his father's footsteps and go after the world title. The company desperately needs him right now." In the latest edition of 'Legion of RAW' on Sportskeeda, former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo revealed what he expects from Cody's return.

“I don't think Cody Rhodes will win the Royal Rumble match” – Russo began bluntly. “I think WWE wants to bring him back to boost ratings, but he's going to have a lot of rust on him. He hasn't wrestled in several months, so they're going to give him some time before re-elevating him.

Whoever eliminates Cody at the Royal Rumble will likely start a feud with him in the following weeks. Rhodes will be able to get rid of the rust and then he will compete for the world title” – added Vince. "Just put his wife out there with him.

That's what you got to do. I swear to God, they're doing these babyface workouts, bro, do not put his wife in those. Like I am telling you, do not put [her]. I don't know this woman from a hole in the wall, but she just comes across as the most unlikable human being on the planet. Do not put her in these babyface vignettes."
