Backstage details on Cody Rhodes' future

Cody Rhodes recently revealed that Vince Mcmahon was ready to cancel his match against Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell 2022. As everyone will remember, 'The American Nightmare' returned to WWE last year at WrestleMania 38 and started an heated feud with 'The Visionary'

The two faced each other three times causing the WWE Universe to go crazy, until Cody tore his pectoral muscle on the eve of Hell in a Cell. The former Aew star entered the ring anyway, but that effort made the situation even worse and forced him to stay in the pits for several months.

"When I received the results of the medical tests, it seemed impossible that I would get into the ring" - Rhodes told the latest edition of the podcast 'IMPAULSIVE' “The pectoral muscle was completely torn and nothing could be done.

I wanted to play that match at all costs, while Vince McMahon was ready to cancel it after what happened. I wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. On the one hand I was in shock from the injury, on the other I used all the energy I had left to make that last effort” - he added.

Cody Rhodes is a true champion

As had been widely announced, Cody Rhodes returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble 2023. The 37-year-old from Marietta respected the predictions of the eve by winning the royal brawl with full merit.

This means that Cody will be able to fight for the world title at WrestleMania 39, scheduled for April 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium. Interviewed by Ariel Helwani for 'BT Sports', Rhodes provided a very important update on his fitness: "I've worked hard these past months to be able to get back in the ring as soon as possible and I want to thank everyone who has helped me along this path.

The truth is, I'm not fully healed yet. I wanted to be there at all costs and WWE was very good to me. My rehabilitation journey is not finished, I will have to do other therapies in the coming weeks. The pectoral muscle injury also forced me to change my training." During a recent appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, The American Nightmare sang the praises of The Visionary, naming him as one of the best in the business today.

"I mean, this is Seth who, he’s won every title known to man. He’s in my book. I have my three top wrestlers and I try not to be in just our WWE bubble. I tried to look everywhere, and I’ve wrestled everybody. I think he’s, I always say he’s top three. He’s incredible, unreal."
