During the night, WWE aired its last PPV before Wrestlemania 39, we are obviously talking about Elimination Chamber, the PPV of the same name of the contention inside the company's infernal cage, invented in the early 2000s.
After having also seen the cage change, to be safer for the athletes inside it, this year the federation also staged in the PPV one of the matches that Canadian fans have been waiting for the longest: Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn, with both Tribal Chief world titles up for grabs.
Needless to say, the backing vocals were all for Sami Zayn, with Roman Reigns being inundated with "F**k You Roman" since the show's inception. During Roman's undisputed title fight, a number of things happened that resulted in a real roller coaster of emotions for the fans.
In fact, as the two fought, the referee was knocked out, just before Zayn hit the champion with his Helluva Kick, coming dangerously close to winning the match. After the referee was knocked out, however, Jimmy and Jey Uso also intervened, with the former immediately hitting Sami, with a Superkick and a Splash.
After also knocking out the other WWE referee, Roman tried in vain to insist with Jey that his cousin attack Zayn with a steel chair, but in the end Sami unintentionally attacked Jey, sending him out of the ring. At the end of the match, Reigns repeatedly attacked Sami Zayn with the chair, then finished him off with his Spear.
To try to make the Canadian fans smile again, Kevin Owens intervened in the post-match, who attacked the champion together with Sami Zayn, with a Helluva Kick that made everyone agree, sending the fans home a bit ' happier, even if Sami doesn't have the titles at his sides.
Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn
According to several insiders, Sami Zayn had no chance of beating Roman Reigns, so much so that Vince Russo had spoken like this in his last speech to the microphones of Sportskeeda: "Nobody thinks Sami Zayn can come out of Elimination Chamber with the world title.
A question arises spontaneously: if Sami were to put the Tribal Chief in serious difficulty, would it be enough to conquer the WWE Universe? I doubt it. Even if he puts in a great performance in front of his home crowd, the outcome of the match would still be what people expected. I don't think this match will allow Zayn to make another leap in quality."
