WrestleMania 39 is less than two weeks away, and Cody Rhodes will wrestle in the biggest match of his professional wrestling career. Rhodes will compete against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on April 2; Reigns has held the title for more than 900 days.

It will be one year since Reigns also won the WWE Title at this year's WrestleMania. On the other hand, Reigns has been working a part-time WWE schedule, sparingly defending his titles and appearing on television a few times per month, much like Brock Lesnar did when he was WWE/Universal Champion.

Rhodes wants to take a different approach to become a champion if he defeats Reigns at WrestleMania and becomes the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Rhodes expressed his desire to be a champion who wrestles frequently and regularly defends his title rather than a part-time champion in an interview with Astro SuperSport.

He considers defeating Reigns a vindication of his career because it demonstrates both his rightness and his wrongness, particularly to the brand-new WWE audience that has warmly embraced his return.

Cody Rhodes Wants to Follow the Busy Schedules of Champion Hart and Flair

Rhodes also referred to his theme song and mentioned Bret Hart and Ric Flair as legendary wrestlers who frequently defended their World Titles, something he hopes to do.

"I want to do something very different from what modern champions have done, where there's a little bit of a 'less is more' schedule," he stated. I want a schedule where "more is more." I would feel vindicated by it." Rhodes thinks that his approach to being a champion will be appreciated by his new audience, which is a good match for the independent audience he was able to bring over.

He wants to bring in as many fans as possible and perform at a level never before achieved by a champion. Rhodes sees his desire for a more active schedule as a way to stand out from the current champions and entice fans to watch him defend his title.

In preparation for their match at WrestleMania on March 20, Reigns will confront Rhodes on Monday Night Raw. As Rhodes attempts to dethrone one of WWE's top stars and become a champion who embodies the fighting spirit of professional wrestling, anticipation is building for what could be a historic moment in his career.
