The Tragic Death of Sara Lee: Reason for Her Sudden Death in October of Last Year

The wrestling scene is staggering from the abrupt passing of 30-year-old WWE grappler Sara Lee. Sources close to the family told PEOPLE that alcohol may have contributed to her sudden death, which has shocked her fans and friends.

Lee's husband, fellow wrestler Cory James Weston, who goes by the ring name Westin Blake, later discovered that she had been drinking heavily on the night of her death. In October, Terri Lee, Sara Lee's mother, shared the devastating news on Facebook.

"It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus," she said, expressing the shock and sadness felt by the family. Her family has undoubtedly been devastated and in shock by the unanticipated loss.

Westin Blake wrote a touching letter to Sara on Instagram following the death of his wife, expressing his love and admiration for her. "A motivator, a best friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, the backbone of our family" was his description of her.

Blake proceeded, "I adored you as soon as I saw you. I would constantly say you were a heavenly messenger strolling on this planet." Hope, a small Michigan town, was where Sara Lee began her wrestling career. In 2010, she received her diploma from Meridian High School, where she competed as a powerlifter and was a track team member.

Her big break came when she competed in the sixth season of the WWE competition series Tough Enough. She won the season and was awarded a $250,000 contract by the organization.
