Following his win in the Andre the Giant battle royal on Friday's "WWE SmackDown," Bobby Lashley is still hoping to secure another match at WrestleMania 39 after his originally scheduled opponent, Bray Wyatt, disappeared from storylines due to a medical issue.
While Lashley's match for WrestleMania has yet to be officially confirmed, there are indications that he will have a match on either Saturday or Sunday. According to a recent report by Fightful Select, the Andre the Giant trophy has been sent to SoFi Stadium, seemingly indicating that Lashley will have a match entrance.
While the report did not confirm Lashley's opponent, fans have speculated that it could be someone like LA Knight or even WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, although WWE has officially announced nothing. Former WWE star Chris Masters also tweeted on Twitter and noted that he wished he could step in the ring with Lashley again.
Whether Masters' dream match will come to fruition remains to be seen, but Lashley's status as a top performer in WWE has undoubtedly put him in high demand.
Bobby Lashley's Dominance at WrestleMania
Since returning to WWE in 2018, Lashley has not missed a WrestleMania, with matches against Finn Balor, Aleister Black, Drew McIntyre, and most recently, "The Nigerian Giant" Omos, who is slated to take on Brock Lesnar on Sunday.
Lashley has been a dominant force in WWE since his return, winning multiple championships and establishing himself as one of the most intimidating athletes in the company. While fans eagerly anticipate Lashley's WrestleMania match, it remains to be seen who his opponent will be.
However, with the Andre the Giant trophy appearing, Lashley will likely be involved in some capacity throughout the two-night event. As always, WWE fans can expect plenty of surprises and excitement at WrestleMania, and Lashley will surely be a significant part of the action.
