Shane McMahon Injury Update After WrestleMania 39 Incident

The former WWE wrestler, Shane McMahon, is reportedly recovering from a torn quadriceps during WrestleMania 39. According to PWInsider Elite, McMahon was flown to Alabama immediately after the incident to undergo surgery to repair the injury at the Andrew Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center.

He is now back home in the Northeast, where he is recovering. It is currently unknown if WWE had any plans for McMahon following his appearance at WrestleMania 39 or if his cameo was a one-off. The wrestler had returned to WWE TV for the first time since his surprise entry in the 2022 Men's Royal Rumble Match, which Brock Lesnar won.

During the WrestleMania event, McMahon interrupted a promo segment by WrestleMania 39 host The Miz and traded punches with him until he suffered the injury while attempting a leapfrog maneuver. WWE medical personnel checked on McMahon before he was helped out of the ring.

Following McMahon's injury, rapper and WWE celebrity Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg stepped in as his replacement in the match against The Miz. Snoop wowed fans with his version of The Rock's People Elbow and ultimately pinned The Miz, winning the bout and posing with his customized WWE Championship belt.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque praised Snoop for his ability to save the WrestleMania match following McMahon's injury. During the post-WrestleMania press conference, Triple H called Snoop a "natural-born entertainer" who earned the respect of WWE fans by putting himself on "a different playing field" as McMahon's last-minute replacement.

McMahon's injury is unfortunate, and it remains to be seen what his future with WWE holds. Still, the incident provided an unexpected opportunity for Snoop Dogg to showcase his love for WWE and his willingness to step up when called upon. Fans will undoubtedly keep an eye out for updates on McMahon's recovery and future plans with WWE.
