Eva Marie Open to WWE Return, Ongoing Discussions Hint at Potential Third Stint
Eva Marie, the 38-year-old former athlete, model, and professional wrestler, has had two tenures with WWE in the past, and recent comments suggest a third run might be in the cards.
Despite her current involvement with TYR Sport as a fitness apparel ambassador, Marie indicated during a WrestleZone interview that the possibility of returning to WWE remains.
Marie emphasized, "Of course. That door is always open.
I mean, we're in constant talks. When I had originally left, I was filming my first lead action movie, so that door is one of those things that is always open. I'm always down to cause some trouble and stir up some things, that's for sure."
Her journey with WWE began in 2013 when she signed with the company and became one of the original "Total Divas" cast members on the E!
Network. Alongside fellow newcomer JoJo Offerman, Marie quickly rose to prominence. Later that year, in October, she made her televised in-ring debut and participated in various multi-woman matches. Among these was the Divas Championship Invitational at WrestleMania 30.
To further develop her in-ring skills, Marie transitioned to "WWE NXT" in 2015.
While there, she challenged Bayley for the "NXT" Women's Championship and forged a strategic alliance with Nia Jax. However, her first WWE stint came to an end in 2017.
Eva Marie's 2021 WWE Comeback
After a brief hiatus, Marie returned to WWE in the spring of 2021, sporting a new look with pink hair.
She quickly allied with Doudrop and entered into a feud with Alexa Bliss. This culminated in a singles match at SummerSlam. Unfortunately for Marie, her run stopped when she suffered a loss to Doudrop in September and was subsequently released as part of mass cuts in November.
Despite her previous departures from the company, the fact that Eva Marie remains in ongoing discussions with WWE indicates that both parties are open to the idea of her return.
This would allow her to showcase her talents and elevate her status within the organization.
Should Marie make her way back to WWE, it remains to be seen what role she will take on and which storylines she will be involved in.
Regardless, her willingness to "cause some trouble and stir up some things" suggests that her return could bring excitement and intrigue to the ever-evolving world of professional wrestling.
