Since last spring, WWE Raw star Austin Theory has been making waves in the wrestling world with his impressive skills in the ring. And while he's held the WWE United States Championship for less than 150 days, he's already made a name for himself as one of the most exciting champions.
Throughout his reign as champion, Theory has found himself amid intense rivalries. He's gone head-to-head with some of the biggest names in WWE, including Seth Rollins, Edge, and John Cena. But one of his most memorable feuds has been against the three-time United States Champion, Bobby Lashley.
And their rivalry will be renewed on Monday Night Raw's upcoming April 17th episode.
History of Theory vs. Lashley
This won't be the first time Theory and Lashley has faced off. It will be the fourth televised match between the two superstars.
Their most recent singles bout occurred on the 30th Anniversary episode of Raw on January 23rd. And while Theory walked away with the win, Brock Lesnar's interference in the no-disqualification match ultimately cost Lashley the victory.
Since his feud with Brock Lesnar abruptly ended at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023, Lashley has kept a relatively low profile on WWE television. He did win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the last SmackDown before WrestleMania 39.
Still, he has noticeably left off "The Showcase of the Immortals" outside of a brief appearance on Day 2 of the event. However, with this upcoming match against Theory, Lashley may be ready to resume his hunt for the United States title.
While the match isn't for the championship, it could be a sign that Lashley is eager to reclaim his former glory. WWE fans look forward to this exciting rematch between two of the most talented wrestlers. And with the history between Theory and Lashley, it's sure to be an intense battle that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
