A recent report has highlighted growing concerns among WWE talent, particularly those who recently returned to the company, following the removal of "several backstage segments involving female talents" from this week's episode of "WWE Raw." The unease is linked to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon's increasing presence backstage, which has been perceived as a potential change source.
The report, published by PWInsider's Mike Johnson, notes a "slightly bubbling paranoia" in recent weeks, especially among WWE talent who returned to the company after Paul "Triple H" Levesque assumed creative control in 2022.
This nervousness stems from numerous reports since WrestleMania 38 suggesting that some segments have been altered or completely scrapped at the last minute, with many attributing these changes to McMahon's involvement.
Recent WWE Raw Segment Disruptions
In the past few weeks, Bayley was allegedly "pulled" from a WWE Raw segment, while fans attending the "Raw" After WrestleMania reported that Seth Rollins appeared flustered and "walked out" of the show when his segment was unexpectedly interrupted by a commercial break.
Concerns have grown among fans and professional wrestling personalities since McMahon's dramatic return to the company earlier this year, approximately six months after he "retired" and stepped down from his role as chairman.
McMahon's departure came after investigations into alleged s*xual misconduct and multiple hush money payments made to women. Subsequently, Levesque, McMahon's son-in-law, took over the promotion's creative direction as its Chief Content Officer.
Levesque's tenure saw the rehiring of several former WWE stars previously released during McMahon's time in charge, including Bray Wyatt, Karrion Kross, and others. However, Johnson's report on Wednesday indicates that many of these recently returned stars are particularly concerned about their WWE status since McMahon's comeback.
While there have been no official directives causing alarm, the talent's unease has not subsided. Johnson stated, "This sort of 'walking on eggshells' feeling has slowly picked up steam since McMahon returned." As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how McMahon's increased presence will impact WWE Raw's creative direction and the overall morale of the talent roster. With many eyes on the company, the future of WWE's storylines and performers hangs in the balance.
