Women's Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez have warned their challengers, Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green, ahead of their title defense on WWE SmackDown this Friday night. The duo, who recently won the championships from Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, have found themselves embroiled in a fierce rivalry with Deville and Green.
In a thrilling match, Rodriguez and Morgan defeated Lynch and Stratus, with Liv securing the win by rolling up Stratus. Following the match, a shocking betrayal occurred when Stratus turned on her partner, Becky Lynch. Now, Rodriguez and Morgan are gearing up to defend their newly-acquired titles against the formidable team of Deville and Green.
Rodriguez Slams Challengers' Egos
In an appearance on WWE's The Bump, Raquel Rodriguez discussed the recent incident on RAW, where Chelsea Green threw water on Liv Morgan's face. Rodriguez referred to their challengers by new nicknames, calling them "Karen and Yolando." She criticized their egotistical behavior, stating that it would ultimately be their downfall.
"Monday night, Karen and Yolando impressed me. But I still think they have a minor fault: they cannot help but be a little egotistical, which is what the water was. It was ego that got in the way, it was disrespectful, and that is fine because all that does is fuel us with a little more fire to wipe the mat clean with them," Rodriguez said.
Morgan Doubts Challengers' Cohesion
During the same interview, Liv Morgan, a former SmackDown Women's Champion, also weighed in on the situation. She, too, gave the challengers a nickname, referring to them as "Karen and Sharon." Morgan expressed her belief that the inflated egos of Green and Deville would hinder their ability to work effectively as a team.
"Yeah, Karen and Sharon, I think Raquel hit on the head. I was impressed by them on Monday, I was. But they both have individual egos that make it hard to be a cohesive team. I have zero egos, like 0%. I want the team to win. I want Raquel and I to win.
I think Sharon and Karen, I think they are in for a bit of a rude awakening, not just with Raquel and me this Friday but just amongst themselves," Morgan said. As the anticipation builds for the upcoming title match, fans are eager to see if the reigning champions, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, can successfully defend their titles against the tenacious challengers Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green.
With tensions running high and both teams determined to emerge victorious, the WWE Universe can expect an exciting and hard-fought battle on SmackDown this Friday night.
