Trish Stratus, a WWE Hall of Famer, recently returned to her heel roots in WWE and provided her thoughts on the current women's champions. During an episode of "After The Bell," Stratus spoke highly of Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair, two rising stars who have mirrored each other's success on the main roster.
Stratus commented on Ripley's character development and stated she is an exceptional talent. She also praised Belair's athleticism, calling her a natural in the ring. Stratus acknowledged that both women are great champions and beautiful, but when asked if she could dethrone Belair, she responded with a coy "maybe" and added that she enjoys watching her.
Ripley and Belair came up through "WWE NXT" simultaneously and walked out of WrestleMania 37 with their first singles titles on the main roster. They made history again at WrestleMania 39 by winning opposite titles, with Ripley becoming the Raw Women's Champion and Belair the SmackDown Women's Champion.
Meanwhile, Stratus came out of retirement again at WrestleMania 39, teaming up with Becky Lynch and Lita to defeat Damage CTRL. Although it has been 17 years since Stratus last won a championship, she recently defended the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Lynch in Lita's place.
However, they ultimately lost the titles to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, setting up Stratus' awaited heel turn.
Trish Stratus and WWE's Current Women's Champions
Stratus is a seven-time Women's Champion in WWE and has had a storied career in the company.
Her return to WWE as a heel has fans speculating about her potential for another championship run. However, it remains to be seen if Stratus will pursue a singles career or continue to team up with Lynch. Stratus' comments on Ripley and Belair reflect her respect for the new generation of female wrestlers in WWE.
As the women's division continues to evolve, it will be exciting to see how Stratus fits into the current landscape and if she can add another championship to her already impressive resume.
