Former Raw Women's Champion Nia Jax, released from her full-time WWE contract in 2021, briefly returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble. The famous wrestler has now expressed interest in a more permanent comeback. The Royal Rumble is known for its surprises, and this year was no exception, with Nia Jax making a shocking appearance as the number 30 entrant in the women's Rumble match, ultimately won by Rhea Ripley.
Despite her popularity, Jax was eliminated by eleven fellow competitors in under two minutes. In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Nia Jax opened up about her one-off return and her desire to rejoin WWE on a full-time basis: "I had just agreed to do the Rumble, but the uncertainty within myself, I wasn't in the best shape, and I wasn't expecting to come back full-time because it takes a lot to come back full-time...It's a whole process, so I wasn't expecting to return full-time at the Rumble."
Reignited Passion for Wrestling
However, Jax admitted that her brief appearance reignited her passion for wrestling.
"I did catch the bug again when I got in the ring...I was like, 'Oh, this feeling, this adrenaline that pumps through you.' ...So when my music hit, that feeling of like, 'Oh sh*t, what the hell was I thinking? Let's go.'
I did catch the bug after being in the Rumble." Jax expressed her eagerness to contribute to the division and help other wrestlers, stating, "If the people remember me, the only thing I'd want to do is to come back and help anybody out.
I could. I would love to add to the division. It would be something that I would love to do." While it remains uncertain whether WWE has plans for Jax in the future, recent reports suggest that the company is interested in several AEW stars. As the wrestling landscape evolves, fans will be curious to see if Nia Jax's potential return could be on the horizon.
