Hall of Fame wrestler Kevin Nash recently expressed concerns about fellow WWE star Cody Rhodes' current approach during his feud with Brock Lesnar. Nash's comments came during the latest edition of his popular Kliq This podcast.
He offered his thoughts on how The American Nightmare has handled his rivalry with Lesnar, especially referencing his devastating loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Nash feels that Cody needs to bring up his WrestleMania defeat more often, which might lead to some of his fans losing interest in his storyline.
He explained that it is clear that Cody did not win at WrestleMania, as evidenced by the absence of a championship belt around his waist. Nash suggests that instead of dwelling on the past, Cody should focus on the present and work on maintaining the support of his fans.
Kevin Nash Recounts Lesnar's Attack on Cody Rhodes
Nash also discussed a recent Monday Night Raw episode after WrestleMania during the podcast. He recounted how Lesnar attacked Cody and beat him up for eight minutes straight, leaving Cody injured and not medically cleared to compete.
Despite his condition, Cody still wanted a piece of Lesnar, leading to an intervention by security personnel. Nash believes Cody's insistence on revenge is a typical babyface move, but he cautions against overusing the WrestleMania loss as motivation.
He described a scene where Cody walked up to the camera after Lesnar left the ring and called him a coward, challenging him and claiming he knew a true cowboy. In addition to discussing the ongoing feud, Nash took issue with some of the wardrobe choices made by Cody during his confrontations with Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
He specifically mentioned a moment when Cody called out Lesnar while wearing an outfit that indicated the two would not be engaging in a physical altercation. Nash found it odd that Cody chose to wear such attire without any knee pads, suggesting that it was a sign that the two wrestlers were not booked to fight during that segment.
Similarly, he pointed out that when Cody faced off against Roman Reigns in a previous episode, Reigns was wearing a tracksuit and tennis shoes while Cody donned a three-piece suit. Nash argued that no one would be foolish enough to ruin a $2,000 case to make the confrontation seem more realistic.
