Cody Rhodes, a prominent 2023 WWE Raw roster member, remains determined to defeat Roman Reigns, now exclusive to WWE SmackDown, for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Despite being on different brands, Rhodes recently spoke with ComicBook Nation about his unwavering ambition following his WrestleMania loss.
"The goal is the same for me," Rhodes asserted. "I came here wanting one thing. It doesn't mean other stories won't happen that will also be finished, and it doesn't mean there aren't other milestones. ... But the most important thing to me is still the championship that sits on Roman's shoulders." He acknowledged that numerous events would have to unfold before a rematch could become a reality.

Additionally, Rhodes touched on reintroducing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, exclusive to Raw. While his primary objective remains Reigns' title, the "American Nightmare" expressed interest in pursuing the newly established championship.
"[With] how WrestleMania 39 ended, a lot of people wonder how [I would] look at this," Rhodes elaborated. "I try not to get into the discussion on it because it's more one of those things where, in my mind, the goal hasn't changed, but also, other things are going to come up." The Raw superstar is concentrating on his close match against Brock Lesnar.
The highly anticipated Rhodes vs. Lesnar showdown is scheduled for this Saturday at WWE Backlash. The event will be broadcast live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico, marking the first time in 18 years that the company has held a TV, PPV, or PLE taping in the country.
Fans and critics eagerly await the outcome of this weekend's event, speculating on whether his performance against Lesnar will impact Rhodes' ongoing pursuit of Reigns' title. With his unwavering determination and clear focus, Rhodes is poised to continue striving for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, regardless of any obstacles that may arise.
