Chelsea Green Shatters Record in Royal Rumble Comeback

Chelsea Green appeared surprisedly at the Women's Royal Rumble Match held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday night. However, her return to WWE was marked by a record-breaking elimination, garnering more attention on social media than her comeback itself.

Entering the fray as the 20th participant, Green's time in the ring was short-lived. Rhea Ripley, the ultimate victor of the match, threw her out within five seconds. Commentator Michael Cole confirmed that Green set a new record for the fastest elimination in Women's Royal Rumble history.

Visibly upset, Green threw a tantrum until WWE officials escorted her away from ringside. During a backstage interview with Megan Morant, Green, still visibly agitated, claimed she was robbed of her comeback moment. "What are you gonna ask me, huh?" she snapped at Morant.

"There's nothing you can ask me! I'm reporting all of you! I was supposed to be at WrestleMania."

Chelsea Green's Comedic Karen Comeback

A Fightful Select report revealed that Chelsea Green would return to WWE as part of the Women's Royal Rumble.

The report also mentioned that she was set to play a "comedic Karen" type character upon her return to the promotion. Speculation about Green's WWE comeback started a few months ago, following reports that WWE officials had "significant interest" in bringing her back to the company.

WWE released Green in April 2021 due to company-wide budget cuts. Her time in WWE, including stints on the main roster and "WWE NXT," was plagued by a series of injuries. The seasoned wrestler broke her wrist twice, once during her "NXT" tenure and again during her "WWE SmackDown" debut on November 13, 2020.

She was rehabbing her second wrist injury when WWE released her nearly five months after her main roster debut. Before rejoining WWE, Green concluded her time with Impact Wrestling after losing to Mickie James in a "loser leaves town" match on November 11.
