Brock Lesnar to Face Cody Rhodes II at WWE Night of Champions The WWE Universe is excited as Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes are set to face off in a highly anticipated match. The news was announced during tonight's post-Backlash RAW, where Lesnar attacked Rhodes during the World Heavyweight Title Tournament Triple Threat that Rhodes was competing in with The Miz and Finn Balor.

Rhodes had been looking to secure a win during the match when Lesnar intervened, pulling Rhodes out of the ring and delivering a devastating F5, laying him out. Despite sporting stitches on his face from the brutal beating he received at WWE Backlash on Saturday, Lesnar put Rhodes through an announce table with a second F5.

Lesnar Challenges Rhodes at Night of Champions

Lesnar grabbed the mic and berated Rhodes, telling him he lucked into his recent victory and this face. He then challenged Rhodes to a fight at WWE Night of Champions and said we will see who the coward is now.

Rhodes, who spent most of the night in the trainer's room recovering from Lesnar's attack, later admitted in an interview with Cathy Kelley that he felt robbed of his chance to win the tournament and the title. He also noted that this was the second time Lesnar had attacked him from behind for no reason.

Rhodes speculated that Lesnar's attacks were due to his long-time grip and monopoly on the main event scene slipping since Rhodes' return to WWE, which he proved at Backlash. Rhodes accepted Lesnar's challenge for a fight at WWE Night of Champions.

While it has not been officially confirmed on RAW, there are indications that Lesnar vs. Rhodes II will have some stipulation, potentially a street fight. The 2023 WWE Night of Champions Premium Live Event is scheduled for Saturday, May 27, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
