The WWE universe is excited as the stage is set for a thrilling tournament to crown a new NXT Women's Champion. This follows the recent promotion of the titleholder, Indi Hartwell, to RAW in the WWE Draft. Hartwell made her final NXT appearance in a memorable show-closing segment this week.

Walking on crutches and sporting a boot due to injuries sustained during the NXT Spring Breakin' event, she announced her departure and unveiled the upcoming tournament. The new champion will emerge from a fiercely competitive contest beginning next Tuesday night, culminating at the NXT Battleground on May 28 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Hartwell's Memorable Exit

Marking her exit poignantly, Hartwell left her title belt in the center of the ring. She then lightened the mood with a quip about needing assistance to exit the ring. This prompted the surprise appearance of Dexter Lumis, to the delight of the WWE Performance Center crowd.

Lumis, emerging from under the call, carried Hartwell backstage as she gave a thumbs up, leaving the audience and the title belt behind. When Lumis and Hartwell disappeared, the focus shifted to the ring and the unclaimed championship belt.

Tiffany Stratton was the first to seize the opportunity, picking up the belt to a chorus of boos. But her triumph was short-lived, as Cora Jade made her presence felt. The two superstars tussled for the belt, and their struggle abruptly ended with a well-timed double clothesline from Lyra Valkyria.

The tension in the ring then exploded into a full-scale brawl as the NXT women's locker room emptied onto the stage, ending the show on a high note. Now, WWE has kept the roster for the upcoming tournament under wraps. However, the dramatic closing brawl featured 13 Superstars, hinting at possible participants.

These included Stratton, Jade, Valkyria, Ivy Nile, Elektra Lopez, Dani Palmer, Fallon Henley, Kiana James, Roxanne Perez, Thea Hail, Wendy Choo, Tatum Paxley, and Valentina Feroz. The upcoming tournament represents a golden opportunity for these athletes to etch their names in the annals of NXT history.

They will vie for the vacant title and fill the void left by Hartwell's departure, promising fans an exciting and unpredictable ride. As the WWE universe waits with bated breath, one thing is sure - the road to the NXT Women's Championship promises to be a riveting journey, full of nail-biting action, unexpected twists, and remarkable displays of talent and tenacity.
