The WWE universe is bracing itself for a historic moment as Seth Rollins steps into the ring at the Night Of Champions on May 27, 2023. Regardless of the outcome of his anticipated title bout against AJ Styles, Rollins is set to etch his name into WWE history.

This highly anticipated match, which serves as the finale of a tournament for the newly minted World Heavyweight Championship, promises to be a show-stopper. The title, designed to be exclusive to Raw, has been widely expected to be claimed by Rollins, who is favored to best SmackDown star AJ Styles.

The potential victory is undoubtedly significant, but Rollins' landmark moment arrives as the opening bell rings. This will be his third participation in an inaugural singles championship match - an achievement no other WWE star can claim.

Rollins' Tryst with Inaugural Titles

Rollins' journey began in 2012 when he won the tournament for the newly introduced NXT Championship against Jinder Mahal, becoming the first NXT Champion. Fast forward to 2016, he vied for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

Although Finn Balor won the title, Rollins' participation marked his second appearance in a debut title match. Securing his place in the World Heavyweight Title tournament finally took a lot of work. Rollins emerged victorious in a three-way bout before defeating Finn Balor in a fierce semi-final clash on the May 8 edition of Raw.

His opponent, AJ Styles, secured his spot by defeating Bobby Lashley in a semi-final match on SmackDown. The May 15 WWE Raw saw several notable outcomes. Shinsuke Nakamura outperformed The Miz, while Mustafa Ali emerged victorious in a battle royal, becoming the #1 contender for Gunther's Intercontinental Championship at Night of Champions.

Unfortunately, the scheduled Women's Tag Team Championship match was canceled due to Liv Morgan's injury. The event was further amplified by the return of Becky Lynch, who cut an electrifying promo on Trish Stratus, challenging her to a Night of Champions showdown.

Other victories included Dominik Mysterio over Xavier Woods and Indus Sher against two jobbers. The night they concluded with Judgment Day, defeating Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn after interference from Imperium, suggesting an intriguing alliance instigated by Paul Heyman.

As the WWE Universe awaits the upcoming Night of Champions, all eyes will be on Seth Rollins as he steps into the ring, ready to etch his name in WWE history.
