Update: WWE's Plans for Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship Reign

Seth Rollins, the newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion, kicked off this week's Monday Night Raw to celebrate his victory at the Night of Champions pay-per-view. The atmosphere was electric as Rollins basked in his triumph.

Surprisingly, AJ Styles made his way to the ring, congratulating "The Visionary" and setting the stage for an intriguing encounter. The tension escalated when The Judgement Day, a formidable duo, interrupted the exchange, leading to the announcement of the evening's main event.

Despite the excitement, the identity of Rollins' first challenger remained a mystery.

Speculation Dispelled: Lesnar-Rollins Clash Debunked

Initial speculation suggested that Rollins' upcoming opponent, possibly at the Money in the Bank event in July, would be none other than the formidable Brock Lesnar.

Their history is well-documented, with Rollins defeating Lesnar to claim the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35 and SummerSlam 2019. However, reliable wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has recently debunked this rumor.

According to Meltzer, Lesnar is currently engaged in a storyline with Cody Rhodes, known as "The American Nightmare." Rhodes challenged Lesnar on Raw, claiming that the legendary beast feared him. He even issued an open challenge to settle their rivalry in a tiebreaker match at a future date.

In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer shed light on the situation, stating, "So they are doing another match [Lesnar and Rhodes]. I don't know if it will be in London (Money in the Bank) or in Detroit (SummerSlam), but they are definitely doing another match.

And I checked, and there is nothing in the cards right now for Lesnar with Seth Rollins. It's not. I mean, they could do it later, but it's nothing that's in the plans right now. It's just Lesnar with Cody. I don't know how Seth wrestles.

I thought maybe we would find out. I thought maybe it'd be like Damien Priest, but then, by the end of the show tonight, it was....when that thing was over, it's like, I don't think they're going to go to Seth and Damian Priest because if they did, all I would say is what a stupid finish they did." With Lesnar's focus elsewhere, the WWE Universe awaits news regarding Rollins' first challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship.

As the reigning champion continues to revel in his well-deserved triumph, speculation runs rampant regarding who will step up to the plate and test the mettle of "The Visionary" in the ring. Wrestling fans worldwide are on edge, anticipating the next thrilling chapter in Rollins' championship reign.
