WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has solidified his status in the annals of WWE history by successfully retaining his championship title for a full calendar year, a significant achievement in his flourishing career. Dubbed 'The Ring General,' GUNTHER celebrated this milestone with a photo of himself enjoying a stogie and a drink.

The snapshot, presumably taken earlier due to its location tag indicating Orlando, was accompanied by a simple caption: "365 [bottle with popping cork emoji]", symbolizing his year-long reign. This notable reign began on June 10, 2022, at the Raising Cane's River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, during an electrifying episode of SmackDown.

GUNTHER first seized the WWE Intercontinental Title from Ricochet, marking the commencement of his supremacy in the ring.

GUNTHER's Dominance Over Superstars

Since this pivotal victory, GUNTHER has asserted his dominance against a roster of accomplished Superstars.

In his television bouts, he has successfully defended his title against Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus (thrice), 2023 WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre in a nail-biting Triple Threat, Xavier Woods, and Mustafa Ali, not to mention Ricochet.

His winning streak extends beyond televised events, as he has also reigned victorious in numerous non-televised live events. Currently, GUNTHER, along with his Imperium stablemates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, is locked in an escalating feud with top RAW Superstars, including Matt Riddle and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

In the most recent episode of RAW, GUNTHER triumphed over Owens in a non-title match. Fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming RAW episode featuring GUNTHER and Kaiser squaring off against Owens and Zayn in another non-title encounter.

Speculation is rife that GUNTHER will defend his title against Riddle at the WWE Money In The Bank event scheduled for July 1 in London. Adding to his list of accolades, GUNTHER achieved another significant milestone in February.

He shattered records by marking the longest Intercontinental Title reign of the 21st century, cementing his legacy in WWE history.
