Santos Escobar's Experiences Shaped His Professional Wrestling Journey

Before making a splash on "WWE NXT" in February 2020, Santos Escobar had already earned his stripes in his hometown of Mexico City, Mexico, where he was recognized in both the CMLL and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide promotions.

Fast forward to today, and Escobar has found his niche on WWE's main roster as a member of the acclaimed groups Legado del Fantasma and the newly resurrected Latino World Order. However, during a recent appearance on "Out of Character with Ryan Satin," Escobar highlighted Lucha Underground's integral role in his wrestling career, opening doors to broader opportunities in the United States.

"Indeed, it was a pivotal part of my life and my professional journey," Escobar affirmed when questioned about the impact of Lucha Underground on his burgeoning career.

Escobar's Journey to King Cuerno

Of significant note was the time and effort dedicated to character development.

The transformation of Escobar into his Lucha Underground persona, King Cuerno, was a smooth affair. Instead, he devoted nearly five years to refining the character before signing with WWE in August 2019. Referring to the crafting of King Cuerno, Escobar expressed, "This was a persona that required careful development.

King Cuerno, the hunter, allowed me to grow, expand my abilities, and polish the tools needed for success in our business. It also intrigued the United States and the WWE Universe audience, sparking curiosity about who this guy is, where he comes from, and generating intrigue about my work." Despite Escobar's undeniable charisma and talent, he still needs to capture championship gold during his tenure on the main roster.

Nevertheless, he can boast about his former "NXT" Cruiserweight Champion reign. In addition, he has frequently come close to securing a shot at WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER. Although currently, the two superstars find themselves on different brands, the prospect of vying for the United States Championship remains a viable option.

That is, of course, if Escobar does not secure a spot in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match. This continuous quest underscores Escobar's ambition, tenacity, and undeterred desire to reach the apex of the wrestling world.
