Bully Ray Views Finn Balor as Legitimate WWE Title Contender

The wrestling universe is abuzz as we gear up for a monumental clash at next month's WWE Money in the Bank event. In an anticipated face-off, Finn Balor is set to challenge Seth Rollins for the coveted WWE World Heavyweight Championship, intensifying a rivalry whose roots are intertwined with both scripted narratives and actual historical grievances.

This intriguing scenario has drawn the interest of WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray, who regards Balor as a formidable adversary for Rollins. On a recent episode of the "Busted Open Radio" show, Bully Ray voiced his thoughts on the impending showdown.

He confidently stated that Balor, with his complex history with Rollins, is a highly credible challenger. With the championship bout taking place at the Money in the Bank event in London in just a fortnight, Ray's sentiment rings particularly resonant.

He emphasizes that their past and present dynamics, both inside the ring and out, are sure to make this a gripping, unforgettable contest.

Bully Ray Recalls Career-Altering Incident

Bully Ray delved deeper into the narrative, recalling an incident that left an indelible mark on both wrestlers.

"From a storyline point of view, Seth gave Finn a buckle bomb that took a year off his career," Ray recounted. He was quick to point out that this incident blurred the lines between fiction and reality, which in turn, would serve to elevate the drama of their forthcoming match.

Their saga dates back to 2016 when Balor, then WWE's shining new star, triumphed over Roman Reigns on his main roster debut. Shortly after, he defeated Rollins to clinch the newly-introduced WWE Universal Championship at that year's SummerSlam.

This week on "WWE Raw," Balor brought up the painful memories of the injury he sustained during their SummerSlam showdown seven years prior. In a bitter recollection, he addressed Rollins: "What should've been the highest of highs for me in an instant became the lowest of lows because of you." The list of injuries Balor endured was formidable - a torn bicep, pec, labrum, and a fractured eye socket, which have since fueled his relentless drive towards this forthcoming clash at the Money in the Bank event.
