When Zoey Stark was called up to "WWE Raw" earlier this year, it caused quite a stir in the wrestling community, drawing attention from many notable figures including AEW's Mark Henry and Thunder Rosa. But it was Trish Stratus, a well-respected figure within the WWE, who was particularly intrigued by this rising star.

A WWE Hall of Famer, Stratus enlisted Stark's help during the Night of Champions, securing a win over Becky Lynch. Today, this dynamic duo has managed to clinch a spot in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match set to take place this Saturday at the O2 Arena in London.

Stratus' Search for a Protege

When asked about what led to this powerhouse partnership, Stratus revealed in an interview with Cathy Kelly on "The Bump" that she was actively seeking a protege. This search began shortly after her split from Becky Lynch and fellow Hall of Famer Lita post-WrestleMania 39.

When it came to potential candidates, Zoey Stark was the only logical choice in Stratus' eyes. "She was drafted to 'Raw' and instantly, I saw something in her," Stratus, the Attitude Era icon, said. "Her potential was palpable; it was impossible not to notice her talent.

She exudes power and confidence, she's captivating, and has an undeniable physical prowess. Plus, she's smart, which is a crucial trait in any successful superstar." Before aligning herself with Trish Stratus, Zoey Stark had already begun making a name for herself in the WWE.

Alongside IYO SKY from Damage CTRL, she tasted her first championship success by winning the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships (recently unified with the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships through the efforts of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler).

There were rumors of a second reign with Nikita Lyons, but Stark took a different route, turning on her new partner. From that point on, until her promotion to the main roster, she made a name for herself as a standalone force to be reckoned with.

When the offer came from Trish Stratus, Stark couldn't pass up the opportunity to learn from such a legendary figure. "She's been an invaluable mentor," Stark shared.
